Fitness Equipment Review
If
you're one of the many people who enjoy working out at home,
then you may want to check out our home fitness equipment
review. Perhaps you are in the process of setting up a room to
serve as a home gym. However, you are unsure what kind of
machines you should include. This review will introduce you to
the various types of home fitness equipment that you may want
to purchase. First, let's take a look at the old standby -- the
treadmill.
Treadmills: The
treadmill is perhaps one of the most classic pieces of fitness
equipment. Home treadmills have come a long way over the years.
There are fold-up models for small spaces that can be stored
under a bed or in a closet. There are also high-tech models
that track heart rate and have a variety of programmable
features. A treadmill is a great piece of equipment to have
because it allows you to walk or run even if the weather
outside is lousy.
Ellipticals: The
elliptical machine is another popular piece of workout
equipment. An elliptical simulates the act of walking and/or
running but is gentle on the joints. You get a total body
workout with an elliptical machine, often in half the time it
would take if you were actually walking or running. Most
ellipticals allow you to adjust resistance for a customized
workout.
Cycles:
Exercise bikes or cycles are also popular for home gyms. Many
of them feature handles that move back and forth, allowing you
to work your upper body while working your lower body. If you
like biking, then you will definitely enjoy an exercise bike.
Like treadmills and ellipticals, models range from simple and
budget priced to high tech and expensive. Recumbent cycles are
quite popular these days as they allow you to cycle in a
comfortable reclined position.
Home Gym
Machines: Perhaps the most multipurpose piece of
equipment in our home fitness equipment review is the home gym
machine. These machines include names like Bowflex, Precor,
Golds Gym and the Total Gym. With one of these machines, you
can strength train your whole body without the need for
multiple machines. Some home gym machines, such as the Total
Gym, even have the ability for cardiovascular and flexibility
training as well.
